Hemp Composite Boards Technology
The Concord Fiber Group’s hemp composite board technology utilizes extrusion and co-extrusion manufacturing systems to produce engineered structural panels designed for moisture resistance, fire-resistant assemblies, dimensional stability, and other targeted performance requirements.
The Technology
Concord Fiber Group’s hemp composite construction boards are manufactured through patented extrusion and co-extrusion processes that combine refined industrial hemp fiber with engineered thermoplastic binders to create application-specific composite panel structures. Unlike conventional commodity construction boards manufactured around fixed material properties, CFG’s co-extrusion technology platform is designed to allow performance requirements — including moisture resistance, fire resistance, thermal performance, impact resistance, and dimensional stability — to be engineered directly into the panel architecture through tunable multilayer composite structures.
The resulting boards are intended to provide combinations of structural, thermal, moisture-resistant, and durability characteristics not typically associated with conventional wood-based construction materials or traditional natural-fiber composite systems.
The technology is the result of multi-year materials development work focused on a consistent thesis: that commodity construction boards represent a significant opportunity for higher-performance composite alternatives manufactured at competitive cost.
Patent Portfolio
The hemp composite construction board platform is protected by three issued U.S. patents covering extrusion and co-extrusion manufacturing systems, composite board architectures, material formulations, and related structural panel technologies for composite construction materials. Additional patent applications related to extrusion-based composite construction technologies and integrated structural panel systems are currently pending.
