Composite structural sheathing panels installed in residential wall framing

Construction Board Applications

The Concord Fiber Group composite boards are engineered as replacements for conventional sheathing, subfloor, roof underlayment, and other structural board applications across residential and commercial construction. The technology combines structural, moisture, fire, and thermal performance characteristics within a single panel system — reducing material layers, installation steps, and potential failure points within the building envelope.

Exterior Wall Sheathing

CFG boards replace conventional structural wall sheathing in residential and light commercial construction. The boards combine the structural function of OSB or plywood with the air and moisture barrier function typically provided by a separate housewrap or fluid-applied membrane, reducing installation labor and eliminating the failure points associated with sheathing-to-wrap interfaces.

Roof Underlayments

CFG composite boards are designed for roof sheathing and underlayment applications beneath shingles, tile, metal panel, and other roofing systems. The combination of structural performance, moisture resistance, and fire-resistant assemblies allows a single panel system to address multiple roof-envelope requirements while reducing the vulnerabilities associated with conventional wood-based roof sheathing.

Subflooring

CFG boards serve as subfloor and underlayment beneath finished flooring including tile, hardwood, engineered wood, laminate, and resilient flooring. Dimensional stability, moisture resistance, and consistent flatness support reliable installation of moisture-sensitive finished flooring without the swelling, delamination, and squeaking common to conventional OSB and plywood subfloors.

These applications apply to both new construction and renovation projects, particularly where a single board can replace multiple traditional material layers.
