Moisture-damaged plywood demonstrating limitations of legacy construction materials

Rethinking Construction Boards

For decades, construction boards have relied on the same raw materials and manufacturing assumptions. The construction industry has largely adapted to the predictable limitations of these legacy materials. Concord Fiber Group is developing composite construction boards engineered around a different set of material assumptions to deliver lighter, more durable, and more capable alternatives.

The Concord Fiber Group develops advanced composite material systems designed to replace legacy construction boards including OSB, plywood, MDF, and XPS. Our proprietary technology platforms can integrate recycled polymers, agricultural fibers, and engineered composite structures to create lighter, more durable, and more moisture-resistant alternatives to conventional construction boards.

The company's portfolio includes:

  • Three issued U.S. patents covering hemp composite construction boards and extrusion manufacturing systems, and

  • A recycled PET structural sheathing platform currently in development with manufacturing partners.
